Ibakon (Akathist) of the Holy Mother of God and prayers

The manuscript of “Ibakon (Akathist) of the Holy Mother of God and prayers” (H 284) is kept in the archives of the National Center for Manuscripts named after Korneli Kekelidze. This manuscript was transcribed by order of Queen Ketevan (17th century) to the priest of Kvatakhevi, Ioane Avalishvili. This manuscript later fell into the hands of the king’s son David, as can be seen from his inscription: “It belongs to the king’s son David” [2r]. Davit Chubinashvili gave the manuscript to Mikhail Sabinin in 1890, and Sabinin gave it to Nikoloz Chavchavadze.

Manuscript H 284 was written in 1609 and consists of 138 pages. The project was completed in 2017 and published the same year as the book.
