“Collection: "Three hundred" / Fundamental philological-textual-theological research and academic publication”.
In 2025, a three-year project was launched, entitled: “Collection: “Three hundred” / Fundamental philological-textual-theological research and academic publication”.
Collection “Three hundred” includes three hundred teachings of Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian and Maximus the Confessor, which were translated into Georgian in the X-XI centuries by St. Euthymius the Athonite. The aforementioned collection was compiled in the 18th century by Saint Gabriel Mtsire.
The project leader is Georgi Kalandadze. Participating scientists are Tamaz Kochlamazashvili, Priest Maxime (Murtaz) Chanturia and Maia Jangidze.
The project is funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
Scholarly Edition of Hieromonk Iona Khelashvili’s Spiritual Wheat
The two-year research project Scholarly Edition of Hieromonk Iona Khelashvili’s “Spiritual Wheat” was launched in 2025. Hieromonk Iona Khelashvili is one of the most prominent figures in Georgian ecclesiastical literature of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His manuscript Spiritual Wheat has not yet been scientifically studied or published.
The project aims to conduct a comprehensive scholarly study of the manuscript and to prepare its first critical edition for publication. The research and editorial work is being carried out by scholar Maia Jangidze.
The project is funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
